NIGERIA SOCIETY OF BIOCHEMISTRY STUDENTS (NSBS)

WHO ARE WE?
The Nigeria Society of Biochemistry Students (NSBS), is a student association for all biochemistry students at various tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It has its National Body which houses numerous local chapters from the six (6) geo-political zone in Nigeria.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
The fundamental aims and objectives of the National body of the Nigeria Society of Biochemistry Students as provided in Chapter One Article II of the NSBS National Constitution is to:
a). promote the interest and encourage the study of Biochemistry in Nigeria in particular and the world at large.
b). ensure the welfare of students and their full participation in the activities of NSBS both at the National level and all local chapters.
c). equip members with organizational skills and experience needed for greater roles for which they may be called upon later in life.
d). instill the necessary feeling of oneness among student of Biochemistry in Nigeria.
e). promote a healthy relationship between the staffs and students of Biochemistry in all departments/units of Biochemistry nationwide.
f). seek meaningful affiliations with and to encourage and coordinate activities between this association and other related organizations within and outside  Nigeria as may be deemed fit by members of the NEC.
g). To create veritable forum for the intellectual, physical and moral development, social and cultural uplift of the members.
h). To maintain and advance cordial and fruitful relationships amongst all its members and local chapters irrespective of school, geopolitical zone, state of origin, creed, sex and/or political belief and to condemn and oppose any type of discrimination, injustice oppression and victimization of human beings through constitutional means.
I) To maintain, protect, defend and uphold the constitution of the association.

MISSION:
The Nigeria Society of Biochemistry Students (National Body) is tasked to unite all eminent in the country, exposing them to numerous opportunities and instilling the attitude of leadership. To do so, it is mandated to create programs and activities that will develop students of all biochemistry departments in the country. These activities are meant to enhance our capacity and ability to handle real life issues when faced by them. It is in the light of these that the National Executive Council (NEC) agreed to embark on programs that will promote eminents not only as future biochemist but also as leaders of our scientific society.
